EU-CELAC Summit

In the context of cooperation and in the spirit of mutual trust, Brussels hosted the 2015 summit between the EU and the Community of Latin America and Caribbean states (CELAC). Cooperating closely, these two political partners have developed dynamic relations based on historical, cultural and economic ties.

This year’s summit was themed „Shaping our common future: working for a prosperous cohesive and sustainable societies for our citizens”.

Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Relations, Delcy Rodríguez, underlined that the CELAC’s dialogue with the European Union is marked by respect even though some principles such as sovereign equality or non-intervention in internal affairs of other countries are not recognized by the EU.
