Warsaw, 3rd July 2015 – The Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Republic of Poland commemorated the Independence Day dated on 5th July.
In the celebration took part diplomats accredited in Poland, Polish authorities, media and organizations’ representatives and friends of Venezuela.
Polish and Venezuelan national anthems were played at the very beginning of the ceremony. The Ambassador Luis Gómez Urdaneta greeted everyone with a speech in which he recalled the historical struggle against colonist and imperial hegemonies that were and still are attempting on free nation´s sovereignty.
Venezuelan pianist – Alfredo Ovalles gave a recital of classical Venezuelan and Polish music. Simón Díaz’s “Mi Querencia” or Chopin’s “Four Mazurkas” were played by him among other great pieces. The celebration was also marked by two photo exhibitions related to Venezuela: “Venezuelan butterflies” and “Venezuela – nature in snapshots”.
